A Study of Time & Silence by Austin Hart

For our 2025 summer show, the Aviary Gallery is pleased to present the artwork of Austin Hart. This series of 1O desert landscape paintings depict naturalistic scenes from sunrise to sunset. Exhibited in sequence, the intention is to represent a temporal flow of places that feel frozen in time.

Growing up in Laguna Beach, Austin has fond memories of the Hortense Miller Garden. Time has brought much change, yet the house, the garden and its history have been preserved. The beauty of the garden is awe inspiring and reminded Austin of the similar yet dramatically different beauty in the desert he now calls home.

A graphic artist by trade, Austin enjoys experimenting with different media and techniques but specializes in traditional portraits and landscapes, working mainly in oil. He currently lives in Morongo Valley with his wife Alison, cat Alfredo and goat Patron.

The Hortense Miller Garden Spring 2025 Art Show -

HMG is pleased to present the artworks of Cynthia Fletcher & Sharon Hardy.

Longtime residents of Laguna Beach, and deeply concerned for the health and future of our planet, both artists respond with thoughtful and positive truths.

Their featured art is found on the grounds of the Garden: (1) The series The Sky Inside, by ceramicist Sharon Hardy, reveals the strength and calm found within ourselves, if we take the time and energy and persistence to find stability. (2) The Force of Life within the Aviary Gallery are oil paintings by Cynthia Fletcher, containing 2 series: Building the Next Generation, and Resilience.

These works confirm the fact that every living thing faces challenges, and adapts by making the most of what is available.
